VISITORS to Brocksbushes will, once again, be able to pick their own.
Strawberries and gooseberries are ready and ripe for picking now, with raspberries, blackcurrants and redcurrants due towards July at the family-owned and run farm shop.
The picking season lasts from July into August - weather-dependent.
"Shopping locally with the farmers and producers on your doorstep supports your local economy and reduces food miles, but it also means you can enjoy food when it is in season and at its tastiest", said a spokesperson for the company, which also has an onsite tea room.
"We love to hear people’s plans for the fruits of their labour; some leave the fields laden with baskets destined for jams and preserves, others make delicious fruit-infused spirits, but most take them home to enjoy strawberries & cream or gooseberry crumble."
To Pick Your Own at Brocksbushes you must book a timeslot online (www.brocksbushes.co.uk). Slots are released every few days after fruit checks are completed.
