A FILM night for Ukraine will be held in Hexham next week.

Théâtre Sans Frontières and Forum Cinema will present eight short films made by young filmmakers shown at the International Children’s Film Festival, Kids Movie Fest, in Kyiv, 2017-2021.

The films are about the thoughts, fears, dreams and desires of Ukrainian teenagers.

The event will be introduced by Svitlana Pohasiy, director of Kids Movie Fest, who is now living in Hexham.

All proceeds from the night will go towards the running of a summer film camp in western Ukraine for children and young people orphaned or injured in the war.

The students will be involved in a range of arts and cultural activities, developing their drama, music, camera and film editing skills.

Film Night for Ukraine will be held at Forum Cinema on Thursday, June 30, at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available via telephone on 01434 601144 or online at the Forum website here.
