THERE was an international flavour to Tyne Green Park Run's on Saturday.
Runners came to run from as far afield as Tokyo and Ukraine and a field of 137 was led by Richard Tailford from Tyne Bridge Harriers with a time of 18 minutes 28 seconds.
Hexham Rotary Club took over the marshalling of the park run.
The run is held at Tyne Green on most Saturday mornings.
The assigned Tail Walker from Hexham Rotary was Andy Pryor, who arrived as a volunteer expecting to walk behind those who had chosen to walk the scenic Park Run course along the Tyne riverbank.
Unfortunately for Andy this was one of those rare days when all the participants decided to run.
Andy was left having to set a course record for the Tail Walker of 38 minutes 31 seconds, all the more impressive for a man logged into the Veteran male 75-79 age running category.
