AN AUTHOR has launched the second year of a competition to win a lucky Golden Ticket.

Bestselling Northumberland author LJ Ross has launched the DCI Ryan Golden Ticket Competition for the second year, which brings together locations from her bestselling DCI Ryan mystery series.

Locations include some of the best places for heritage, hospitality and leisure in the North East and gives five lucky winners the chance to explore and enjoy the region.

The tickets are worth £2,000 and the competition closes on Thursday, June 30, with the winners chosen on Friday, July 1.

Businesses include Cogito Books, Kielder Observatory, Forum Books and The Bound, and The Corbridge Larder, with many others throughout Northumberland.

The bestselling author has sold more than seven million copies worldwide of her atmospheric crime and mystery thrillers.

She continues to live in Northumberland with her family, and supports local charities along with her own initiatives, the Northern Photography Prize and Lindisfarne Writing Prize.

LJ Ross supported local North East businesses through the pandemic with a £50,000 grant fund.
