A CHINESE takeaway has been hit with a one-star food hygiene rating.
Lilium Garden on South Road in Prudhoe was given the rating following its most recent inspection on April 27.
It had previously scored five stars after an inspection in 2018.
Inspectors found improvement was necessary in both hygienic food handling and cleanliness and condition of facilities at Lilium Garden.
Major improvement was found necessary in the management of food safety.
This includes having a system or checks in place to ensure food is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in the future.
The Hexham Courant has attempted to contact Lilium Garden for a response.
