A businesswoman said she feels 'overwhelmed' by customers' support as the countdown to closing her store begins.

Owner of J.C. Herdman Jewellers Ann Herdman has 'mixed emotions' after announcing the final details being put into place to close her business down in July.

Ann took the decision to retire after she had no-one to take over the jewellers in Hexham.

Although the countdown is on, Ann wanted to remind customers of key dates before the doors shut for the final time.

"I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that we are closing the doors on July 2," Anne said.

"After June 11 we will not be able to undertake any more repairs with the last day for collection or repairs being June 25.

"In the meantime, we do have a closing down sale and there will be further reductions and bargains to be had where many items will be reduced to half their original price.

"If there are any queries following the shop closure, I can be contacted on mobile 07845967293.

"Once again I would like to thank everyone for their support over the years and for their kind words of support after the first news of us closing was announced.

"After 70 years of trading it was lovely to hear your memories of the shop and the many occasions on which we have served them.

"I would also like to thank those who wish me well for the future."
