AN INTERIM leader has been appointed at a North Tyne primary school after the former headteacher left on 'personal grounds'.

Tina Oliver left Otterburn Primary School earlier this month.

Deborah Worrall has taken over as interim headteacher.

Audrey Kingham, Joint Interim Director of Children's Services at Northumberland County Council, said: "The council’s school improvement team has been working with Otterburn Primary School governors, staff and community since January.

"We can confirm an interim headteacher has been recently appointed following the departure of the former headteacher on personal grounds.

"We want to reassure parents and carers that the school improvement team will continue to work alongside staff and governors to ensure the school retains a full complement of staff and that the education of our young people continues to meet the highest of standards."
