AN early Jubilee celebration took place at Wylam First School on Monday, May 23.
Pupils got into the Jubilee spirit as they enjoyed a family picnic to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
The children were greeted by bunting and a bouncy castle on Monday afternoon, organised by the school's Parent Teacher and Friend Association (PTFA) to celebrate the landmark occasion.
Her Majesty, also known as Year 4 student Isabel Conaty, cut the Union Jack cake as she declared the picnic officially open.
The event was funded by a grant from The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Fund, awarded to the school by Northumberland County Council.
Deputy Headteacher, Mr Daly-Brand, said: "It was an amazing afternoon and it was fantastic to be able to welcome people back into the school after spending so long keeping our distance.
"Everyone looked to have a wonderful time, they looked relaxed, happy, and enjoyed catching up with one another," he added.
