TYNEDALE slimmers have donated their old clothes which no longer fit them to raise money for charity.

The 'Big Slimming World Clothes Throw', which took place between May 9 and May 21, encourages Slimming World members across the UK to donate the clothes they've slimmed out of to their local Cancer Research UK shops.

The Hexham and Haltwhistle Slimming World groups collected 90 bags of clothes, shoes, homeware, and accessories.

Nici Dodd, who runs the Hexham Tuesday and Haltwhistle Thursday night Slimming World groups, said: "I can’t quite believe how many bags we managed to collect. I knew my members were amazing but I didn’t expect such an incredible level of effort."

Caroline Elsom-Mekins, who runs the Hexham Monday Slimming World group, added: "I’m so proud of my members and their efforts. They really do put their heart into everything they do. Whether it’s their weight loss, supporting each other each week or raising money for charity, they continually blow me away."

Slimming World has supported Cancer Research UK since 2013 and has helped to raise more than £17 million for the charity.
