A CATTON-BASED artist who walked from Land's End to John o'Groats will have her work exhibited.

The Forge Gallery, Allendale, will show The End to End Trail - a selection of over 100 watercolours which Jos Mahon created on her 1,300-mile journey.

Jos has spent most of her life in the Allen Valleys and has always found inspiration from her surroundings, favouring work outdoors and responding to weather and place. Her other passion is walking.

She and husband Bob and dog Barney backpacked the nearly 1,400-mile journey and the resulting 240 paintings form a unique collection and an exciting visual record of her experience.

More than 100 of the paintings will be on display at The Allendale Forge Studios gallery throughout June.

Two books will also be on sale during the exhibition: Painting on the End to End Trail, an artist’s visual diary of a walk from Land’s End to John o’ Groats and Barney’s Long Walk, Backpacking Land’s End To John o’Groats with a dog, with profits going to Guide Dogs, The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
