A band promises audiences an evening of 'soothing jazz' at a local cafe.

Swing Bridge, a trio of musicians, will be playing at the coffee house in Hexham on Friday, May 20 at 4-6pm.

The band is playing at the venue for the first time but the band itself has played in many venues around the town and Northumberland.

"I just happpened to come across the coffee house when I was strolling around Hexham looking for our next venue.

"We've played almost everywhere in Hexham and Northumberland but not there," said Peter Ninnim, drumer of Swing Bridge.

"One look at it and I thought it would be perfect place for an evening of jazz.

"I called my other band members and told them about it. They were eager as me to try and get it secured.

"Luckily the owner agreed to have us and so now we cannot wait to perform.

We are hoping for good weather, so audiences can sit back and relax to the music and enjoy the sun.

"Just to get a feel of the performance we will probably include Hymn to Freedom, Triste, Corcovada, The Lady is a tramp and Pink Panther and lots more."
