ONE of the district’s biggest music festivals is set to make its return this year.
First established in 2014, the festival is a three-day event celebrating the best in folk music and traditional dance.
This year, the festival will run from Friday, September 23 until Sunday, September 25.
Main events will be held at Allendale Village Hall, St Cuthbert’s Church, and Allendale Primary School.
Live bands from near and far have descended on the village for the event over the years, with featured artists including The McGoldrick Sisters, The Unthanks, Rachel Newton Trio, Matuki, Kathryn Tickell, and Faustus.
Alongside the music, year after year dancing in the square is lively, and the workshop programme full.
The festival also includes the iconic ceremony that sees a wooden sculpture representing the Allendale wolf burnt to the ground.
