Two sisters have raised a substantial amount of money for cancer charities by taking part in a 100km nighttime bike ride.

Joanna Myers, owner of Dotty Buttercream in Kellah, and her sister Claire Smith took part in 'Ride The Night' bike event which started at 9pm on Saturday, April 30 and finished at 3:30am on Sunday, May 1.

The pair raised £1,132 for Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust, Ovarian cancer action and Breast Cancer.

Joanna said: "My sister lives in Oxfordshire but we virtually trained together using strava. We originally booked to do the ride in 2019 but with Covid it didn't happen until 2022.

"We wanted to have the challenge to work towards but also one of my best friends was fighting and has now beaten breast cancer so I wanted to do something to help her and other women like her."

"The night was amazing."
