The return of an annual event helped raise money for a Christmas lights fund.

The Haltwhistle's Chamber of Trade committee has announced that £1,285.00 has been raised to go towards the town's Christmas displays.

The money was raised at the return of the annual Easter Sunday afternoon tea in the Holy Cross Church which was organised by Christine Dover, Yvonne Ostler and their team of helpers.

Haltwhistle Chamber of Trade has been organising the town’s Christmas lights since 1986 initially with its members and residents putting them up and taking them down every year but this has stopped due to health and safety.

Donations can still be made through the collection boxes in many shops, by cheque dropped off at Armstrongs’ Fashion and Bridal or by contacting the Chamber of Trade directly by email: haltwhisltechamberoftrade@gmail.com
