Town to welcome the return of plant fair for its 22nd anniversary.
The 22nd annual Haltwhistle Plant Fair will return after a two-year break due to Covid on Saturday, May 21 at Haltwhistle Swimming and Leisure centre from 9:30-3:30.
The event has been named the town's Chelsea Flower Show, with the town’s plant festival attracting more and more people each year.
It is organised by the local voluntary-led group Craftwrite and the specialist Nurseries Plant Fair will host 14 growers with a fine selection of interesting plants for the keen gardener.
There will also be a wide range of craft stalls and books and a festival cafe which will be available throughout the day.
Although there is was worry about the event returning, Maxine Wilson, Manager of Haltwhistle Swimming and Leisure Centre said " ‘It was a leap of faith.
While one of the organisers, Penny Pearce adds: "We are very grateful it will be back.
"We contacted the stallholders from three years ago and we didn’t know how they’d feel about coming back after such a long time."
Entry is £1 and proceeds go to Haltwhistle Swimming and Leisure Centre
