A COUPLE were relieved that their wedding was ‘stress-free’ and ‘perfect’ after the original wedding date was changed three times because of Covid.

Zoe Reed, 38, and Jamie Wilson, 39, of Corbridge, first met in night school and then later found each other on a night out in Hexham.

Since then, the pair have been inseparable.

Recalling the night they reunited, Zoe said: “We met in Mr Ants in Hexham in 2014. I knew Jamie from night school but after that, we then lost ways.

“After the night out, we started dating.”

A year later the pair got engaged on February 5, 2015 after receiving great news of a bundle of joy to join the family.

Zoe said: “It was a spur of the moment engagement as we were expecting our daughter Millie.”

A few years later and the couple tried to organise their wedding with the obstacle which was Covid.

“We had set plans to get married in April 2020 but because of Covid we had to keep changing the dates,” Zoe said.

“In total, it became three dates and two years later than what it was meant to be, but we finally set the date to marry on April 8, 2022.”

Finally with a wedding date set, hairdresser Zoe, and Jamie, a first-class lorry driver could finally plan their hen and stag dos.

Zoe said: “I had two hen dos and went to bongo bingo with my work colleagues from Reflections. It was amazing.

“Then for my second hen do, we went for bottomless brunch with bridesmaids, family, and friends. It was so good and never laughed so much.

“Jamie went to town for all-day drinking which he loved then he went to Edinburgh for a few days.”

At last, the day Zoe and Jamie had wished for had arrived – their long-awaited wedding day at Horton Grange Country House in Ponteland.

Speaking about the day, Zoe said: “The day was perfect as my dad walked me down the aisle in my beautiful dress to meet Jamie at the altar with all our family and friends around us.

“We made sure our family was involved on the day including our son and daughters as a flower girl, a bridesmaid, and an usher.

“Even my cousin KayWharton Hall made our delicious wedding cake.”

After the day ceremony, the guests enjoyed their meal and later watched Jamie and Zoe for their first dance.

Zoe said: “Our first dance was ‘The one by Kolaline’ then everyone joined in with the dancing afterward.

“The whole day was perfect and we would like to thank everyone for coming and the staff at Horton Grange for making the day stress free.

“We enjoyed every part of the day and night as we waited two years for it to go ahead because of Covid.”
