A PRIMARY school has raised more than £500 through a fundraising run for the people of Ukraine.
Prudhoe West Academy raised their target goal of £500 by the end of Thursday, March 24, the day they completed the four kilometre run at Prudhoe Riverside.
"We were initially inspired by 'Run for Ukraine' on the Great North Run website. Using this as a base for our idea we are running four kilometres and have set up a Just Giving page for the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Fund," they said.
By Friday morning, March 25, their Just Giving page raised £555.
In a Facebook post, Prudhoe West Academy said: "We did it - so proud of all the staff who took part and those who supported in other ways. Thank you to Mrs Briggs for sorting such a fab and important event."
The Just Giving page closes on Sunday.
