A PONTELAND pensioner has appeared in court charged with the murder of her 81-year-old husband.
Janet Dunn, 72, of Beech Court was in the dock at South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court in Bedlington on Friday.
At about 5.25pm on Tuesday, March 15, Northumbria Police officers received a report of concern for the welfare of a man. Emergency services attended the address and found Anthony Dunn dead.
She is due to appear at Newcastle Crown Court on Monday, March 21 for a hearing on a bail application.
The defendant remains in custody.
