A YOUNG girl was approached by a man in a white van in Ponteland, police have said.
Shortly after 6:15pm on March 10, Northumbria Police received a report of suspicious behaviour on Middle Drive.
It was reported that a young girl had been asked for directions by a man in a white van before then being asked if she wanted a lift home.
The girl declined and ran home before reporting to police, a spokeswoman told the Courant.
Inquiries are ongoing to locate the van and the driver. Anyone with information is asked to contact police using reference number NP-20220310-0894.
