A PARENT is looking forward to hearing the outcome of a petition which she launched to improve road safety.

Tara Wright, said she was excited to hear the result of a petition she created to ask Northumberland County Council to make changes on what she described as the dangerous, Allendale Road in Hexham.

Tara, 33, started the petition, claiming that nearly every day she had witnessed motorists doing ‘frightening speeds’ in the area when watching her children walk to school.

In December, the petition was accepted with 672 signatures.

The outcome will be revealed on March 15 at the Local Area Council meeting in Morpeth.

She said: “I’m really looking forward to the meeting, so we can hopefully get something done and safeguard all of the kids and pedestrians/cyclists that use this road and make Hexham a safer place to enjoy.

“I worked so hard on the petition with so much help from the community I really do hope it has done the job.”
