ONE of the district's largest employers is looking to recruit.
Plastics manufacturer Berry Global, who operate the bottle factory at Plenmeller, near Haltwhistle, has been praised by Hexham MP Guy Opperman when he recently visited the factory for providing more than a hundred local jobs.
Mr Opperman said: "We are proud to have such a great international firm providing well over a hundred jobs in Haltwhistle and want to support it going forward.
"I saw for myself that they are at the forefront of recycling plastic, and I hope we can persuade more youngsters and over 50s to see they can get a great job locally.”
A Berry Global representative said: “We were delighted to welcome Guy Opperman to our factory once again and are very grateful for his continued support.
"Bringing on the next generation of skilled workers is critical to the continued success and growth of our business, delivering a first class service for our customers and helping to support the local economy.
"We look forward to giving our next batch of recruits their important first step on their career paths.”
