FESTIVAL organisers have responded to ticketholders after months of no communication.

Corbridge Festival ticketholders have become increasingly frustrated with the lack of communication from the organisers of Corbridge Festival.

"These people have had hundreds of pounds of our money for two years now," Jude Martin, a festival ticketholder, said. "Not acceptable."

Attempts have been made by the public to contact the organisers of the festival, through social media channels and emails to get any updated information on if the festival is going ahead this year.

When the festival was cancelled in 2021, the festival published a statement on its Facebook page which said: "We’ve been holding out, waiting for a Government-backed Covid insurance policy to find its way into the live events industry.

"Sadly, it did not arrive and without insurance of this kind, we simply can’t make all of the financial commitments we need, with the uncertainty that we are still faced with."

It added that before people applied for a refund, they should wait for further updates to be released. "We have some big news to share with you very soon," it claimed.

After it posted this on Thursday, May 27 2021, the company has not made any public announcements on their Facebook or Twitter pages.

Jude said she felt "angry, disappointed, conned, and ignored."

"We try to support North East festivals and they don't even have the decency to reply or acknowledge its ticket holders," she said.

The venue where Corbridge Festival was last held, Tynedale RFC, were contacted for this article. They said the festival will definitely not be taking place at the rugby club this year, and the event had been taken over by Newcastle-based promotions company, SSD Concerts.

Lynsey Mulholland, another ticketholder, has tweeted and emailed channels and accounts connected with Corbridge Festival and SSD Concerts.

On Wednesday, February 23, she received a reply from Corbridge Festival's Twitter account.

The reply stated: "Hi Lynsey, I'm so sorry it's taken us so long to make an announcement but we've experienced a host of setbacks and are still trying to sort. If you would like to refund please send me through the lead ticket holders' name and reference number and I'll organise a refund.

"Alternatively, we'll make an announcement as soon as we are able. I'm so very sorry for the delay."
