A NEW exhibition is to be held at the Allendale Forge Studios.

Blue Hues - a kaleidoscopic collaboration of textiles - brings together local people Julia Neubauer and Marion Woolcott.

It follows successful 'JU-MA' exhibitions over the last three years.

For this exhibition, the pair have created a collection of work based on their love of blue.

There will be a array of textile techniques on show, including: Multi shaft weaving, tapestry crochet, hand frame knitting, leather craft and silk painting.

Marion will be exhibiting a range of hand woven, fine merino scarves with space dyed warps, and bowls and mats crocheted with indigo dyed Herdwick wool, while Julia will be exhibiting painted silk wall hangings, die cut leather accessories, linen scarves and range of hand framed knitwear.

The pair worked together when members of The Wool Clip, and through their admiration of each other’s expertise, JU-MA was born. There is a strong Japanese influence in their designs, which are sold through craft outlets in the UK.

The JU-MA exhibition opens in the Allendale Forge Gallery on Tuesday, March 1 until March 31. Admission is free.
