Northumbria Water has announced that a burst pipe has been repaired.
Allendale residents reported a problem with their water around 6.30 am this morning (Sunday, 23 January) which led Northumbria Water to send a crew out to find the problem.
The water company had found a burst pipe and set up a three-way traffic system to control traffic on the B6303 road in Allendale, Hexham, while a crew was tackling it.
Three hours later, residents were still having problems and were relying on Twitter updates.
Finally, the company announced the pipe had been fixed.
The latest Twitter post said: "Good News! Our repair around #Allendale is complete and the water is back on. Pressure may be at a reduced rate but it will build over the next hour or so. Thank you for your patience"
