A TYNEDALE brewery hopes by increasing their storage facilities they will be able to employ more local people.
Allendale Brewery has applied to Northumberland County Council for permission to extend the existing brewery building to the South East in order to increase the size of their warehouse.
In a cover letter submitted alongside the application, owner Tom Hick said: "The purpose of the extension is to increase the storage facilities that we have.
"This will enable growth of the business and remove the need for a second off-site storage and distribution warehouse, which would be costly and increase the environmental impact of our operations, due to the requirement for transportation between sites, and the operational costs of a second site."
He added: "We believe that the additional storage capacity provided will be of immense benefit to our business and enable us to employ more local people, providing additional benefits to our rural community."
The proposed material used for the extension would be of insulated box profile metal sheet, in green, with a steel frame.
