A ROMAN soldier from the second century AD made an appearance on a section of Hadrian’s Wall to celebrate the 1,900th anniversary of the start of its construction.
Nigel Apperley, from Cumbria, has performed several Roman living history displays over the years.
He has now walked a section of Hadrian’s Wall, talking to the public about the Wall and Roman history.
Nigel will be out and about for more walks in full Roman military regalia throughout the rest of the year.
People that Nigel interacted with said they were happy to see someone brought the Wall and its legacy alive.
