A NORTHUMBERLAND castle up for sale for £3m has featured on a Channel 4 programme.
Otterburn Castle, which has 21 bedrooms and 20 bathrooms, was shown on Britain’s Most Expensive Houses.
The Grade II listed castle hailing from, at least, the 11th century is being marketed by Sotheby’s.
The historic building, which has operated as a hotel since the 1940s, sits on the edge of Northumberland national park and Kielder Forest, and is now looking to return to private ownership.
The castle is currently owned by Elena Wynn, having belonged to aristocratic families over the years.
Along with 32 acres of land, the castle enjoys fishing rights to 3.5 miles of single bank fishing on the River Rede, with its source in the Northumberland National Park, well known for its brown trout.
