AN ELECTRICAL business has been praised for its efforts to serve the community.

A Facebook review praised Tynedale Electrics for its speedy service: “Just a heads up and thanks to Tynedale Electrics after I called there this afternoon to purchase a fridge for my 94-year-old mother as hers had broken down while in hospital. Thirty minutes later it was delivered and installed at her home in Haydon Bridge. Big plus for shopping locally!”

Tynedale Electrics is owned by Jack McClelland, age 69, from Wallsend.

He took over the shop two years ago when the previous owner retired.

The business sells, supplies, and installs appliances such as washing machines, fridges, and ovens.

It also offers to repair certain appliances which they stock, and is sells spare parts.

Tynedale Electrics offers to repair hobs, ovens, washing machines and tumble dryers.

Jack said: “We offer a service that can’t be replicated by bigger stores or online.”

To repair an appliance, Jack offers a free quote, along with professional independent advice to make sure customers get what they need.

Brands they supply and repair include Whirlpool, Indesit, Hotpoint, and others.

After retiring years earlier himself, Jack bought the business to keep him busy.

The shop has been established for 28 years at Broadgates House in Hexham.

Opening times start from 9am Monday to Friday and close at 4pm.

On Saturday, they open at 10am and close earlier at 2pm.

Jack said his customers were generally locals of mixed ages, who wanted to look at their new appliance in person before buying.

His employees also deliver and install the appliance on the same day as being purchased. They can deliver in Hexham and throughout the surrounding areas.

Customer prices are kept low, since Jack and his employees deliver appliances as part of their high quality service.

He said: “The older generation like to have a look round, open the appliance doors, and see what the appliances are like, and they like to have a chat.”
