FOSTERING makes a real difference to children's and young people's lives. An online event will take place monthly from Tuesday, January 11 until Friday, December 9 to help people understand which type of fostering could be right for them.

Organised by Northumberland County Council, the online event is free and each session will last an hour.

There is an opportunity to chat with current foster carers to learn more about how you could help young people, including what different types of foster care there are and which ones would suit you.

The sessions also explore what fostering involves, and the application and training process.

Northumberland County Council are also offering a chance to learn about what they offer fosterers, including the support they provide, and the resources and payment that are available.

They emphasise there is no pressure to sign up and apply, but to feel free to ask any initial questions you may have about the process and understand what options are open to you.

Once you book your tickets through Eventbrite, the council will send you event details closer to the time.
