A charity is thanking 'friend' pub for raising a substantial amount of money in charity event.

Tynedale Hospice at Home is saying thank you to a pub that donated money from an event they held in December last year.

The Fox, in Hexham, had hosted a 'charity day' on Sunday, 26 December.

It was a ticketed event and brought in a huge crowd.

On the night, the pub had a band called Liberty Belle on, which was enjoyed by many.

Overall the night had gone on to raise £500 from the charity.

Cathy Bates, Tynedale Hospice at Home Fundraising Manager said: "The Fox, their lovely staff and amazing customers are fantastic friends to Tynedale Hospice at Home.

"Despite all the hardship faced by Tynedale’s hospitality industry, we continue to see such incredible kindness.

"Every penny raised will help local people and we couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you - you are such an inspiration."
