THE Great North Air Ambulance have released an update following an incident in a Northumberland town.

Emergency services, including police and ambulance teams, were called out before 11am on Wednesday, January 4, to attend to an incident in Priestpopple, Hexham.

The incident involved a woman having a medical emergency and was later transported to hospital by ambulance.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "Emergency services were called to a woman having a medical emergency near Zyka restaurant in Priestpopple."

A spokesperson for The Great North Air Ambulance added: "We were called out shortly 11am to an incident in Hexham.

"We did not lift anyone from the scene."
