HEXHAM MP, Guy Opperman, visited Hexham Mart Vaccination Centre to encourage residents to get vaccinated.
Mr Opperman met staff at Hexham Mart to thank them for their efforts in helping the most vulnerable stay safe.
The local MP said: "It was great to pop into the Hexham Mart Vaccination Centre. They have jabbed over 4,000 with boosters, second and first vaccinations."
Early analysis from the UK Heath Security Agency shows a third booster prevents around 75 per cent of people getting any Covid symptoms.
Mr Opperman has called for local people to get vaccinated and protect themselves, their friends, and their family over this year’s Christmas period.
Hexham Mart Vaccination Centre is open Tuesday, December 28 and Thursday, December 30 but you need to book an appointment.
Mr Opperman emphasised: "Please get vaccinated - it is so vital."
