A NEW beginners dance class is launching in January, 2022.

JVS Dance are asking those interested to enrol in the new beginners dance class, which will be starting in the New Year.

The business currently run dance classes at Newton and Bywell Community Hall, and they specialise in adult Ballroom and Latin American dancing.

Justine Little, dance teacher at JVS Dance, said: "it is important to get the mind and body moving", and dance offers many psychological health benefits.

She emphasised dancing's positive impact: "Dancing is a great way to improve physical fitness, mental wellness and a method of relaxation whilst making friends."

Justine runs 10 week courses for adults to learn the basics, before progressing onto more advanced dances.

She can also provide private tuition and choreograph a dance routine to music of your choice, which is a great idea for hen parties or birthdays.

"My classes are easy paced, relaxed, enjoyable experiences, enabling my students to have the confidence to take to the floor."

According to experts, the same endorphins or chemicals in the body that make one feel better are released in greater quantities when one is dancing.

Dance helps counter anxiety, depression, poor self-esteem and post traumatic stress.
