A FUN-FILLED sports bootcamp will take place from Monday, 20 December until Wednesday, 22 December.

Good Sports at Tyne, Rede, and Coquet are hosting three days of Christmas holiday activities for children aged 4-11, where they can make new friends and have fun playing various sports.

Sarah Allan, a qualified physical education teacher, has run the family business for over 13 years with her sons.

Held at Riding Mill Millennium Hall, events include hockey, football, badminton, and problem-solving.

Sarah said: "there's an emphasis on cooperation and working together," as older children help younger children to complete activities.

Children can participate in daily craft activities through their lunchtime, such as making Christmas cards and decorations, and designing Christmas jumpers.

Priced at £20 per day, the events will be carried out by qualified DBS coaches and supported by Sports Leaders. The sessions will run from 10am until 3pm, and half days are also available.

"Kids will try it for one day and then want to book it again when they realise they won't be made to feel silly if they can't do something, and they really grow in confidence."

Good Sports have ensured the events are always Covid safe. Staff and children use hand sanitiser and wear face masks.

"If it's a disposable mask, the children can draw smiley faces on and make it their own."

If a child is uncomfortable wearing a mask, windows are opened to keep the space well ventilated and are helped to socially distance.

The next events will be held at Riding Mill and Slaley next summer.
