A CONSERVATORY could be demolished to make way for another bedroom at a Prudhoe home.

Plans have been submitted to Northumberland County Council which could see a single storey, rear conservatory demolished in favour of a proposed single storey, rear extension and first floor side extension above the existing garage at the Ovington View property.

“The current use of the dwelling is a two storey four-bed dwelling”, said a design and access statement submitted for approval. “The proposal will add another bedroom, making this a five-bed dwelling.

“The ground floor is proposed to be extended 3m to accommodate a reconfigured plan. The rear extension will aim to maximise the unique views the property has across the valley from both the living room and the dining area.

“The bedroom is to face the rear to take advantage of the fantastic views. This then allocates a walk in wardrobe and en suite to the front of the house. The E-S would be more cost effective to be placed to the side and allows pipework to run down the side of the garage.

“The bedroom is to focus and orientate to the views and in turn, improve the amenity for the inhabitants. This is emphasised and celebrated by creating a deep threshold on a large window to create a window seat.”

The application is for Greg Brown and is being managed by Feda Architects.
