IMPROVEMENTS have been made to a Prudhoe fire station.
The Northumberland County Council's Fire and Rescue team at Prudhoe have taken possession of a modern and well equipped engine.
The station was visited by a county councillor who welcomed the change.
Northumberland County Councillor Gordon Stewart, who represents Prudhoe South, and is also the deputy chair of the fire authority said: "This is a busy station serving a wide area, supporting urban and rural communities as well as large businesses and a mixture of road networks.
"I am delighted to be able to visit the station and see for myself the new addition to the team."
Coun. Stewart added: "There are a variety of employment opportunities available within the service, and I would urge anyone who is interested to check out the council's website."
