A BAR and restaurant is seeking permission for an extension which would allow extra kitchen facilities.
The Dyvels Hotel, on Station Road in Corbridge, have submitted a planning application to Northumberland County Council.
A design, access and heritage statement submitted alongside the application said: "The applicants have identified the need to increase the capacity for food provision to maintain the viability of the business and as such an extension to the existing kitchen is required."
If approved, they would construct a new timber framed extension over an existing hardstand area to the rear of the property to form additional kitchen facilities.
The statement added: "It is understood from previous consultations with the Planning Department that a suitably designed and sized extension to the existing property may be acceptable which has led to this proposal being developed and submitted.
"However, as the proposal effectively constitutes development within the green belt, careful consideration has been given to its design, location and benefit to the business, local community, the local economy and reinforces the viability of the public house and the surrounding area in general."
