(ABOVE) The old trade sign over the Bristly Hog Coffee House and Eatery, the former Black Hall Brush Factory in Stricklandgate.
In 1576 the building was the home of Kendal’s first alderman Henry Wilson, whilst R. Hodgson established the brush factory in 1869.
The hog was recently carefully refurbished by Tony Colloby & Sons using genuine hog bristles.
An old time capsule was discovered inside, this has been updated and replaced.
