A North East charity, Coping with Cancer, will be hosting an informal open day event for anyone who wants more information about the charity to find out what services they offer.

The open day on Friday, December 10 will run from 10am till 2pm at Adapt North East in Hexham, and will allow people to speak to counsellors and therapists who work with the charity.

Coping with Cancer has supported people living with cancer for 39 years.

They offer complimentary treatments and free counselling to anyone who is, or has been, affected by cancer, including family, friends, and carers.

Their complementary services include: auricular acupuncture, reflexology, Indian head massages, and reiki.

The charity said: "We want to say a big thank you to our funders. Coping with Cancer have received funding from NHS Charities Together to begin counselling across Northumberland from January to December 2022, which will be weekly in Hexham."

"We have also received funding from Global's Make Some Noise to increase the amount of counselling between April 2022 to March 2023."

"Both of our funding is for a year, however we are committed to conducting our services in Hexham and surrounding areas and want to keep these services going once it is up and running."
