THE Prudhoe community has once again backed a campaign launched to provide gifts and toys for children, families and elderly people struggling financially this Christmas.
The Angie Scott Christmas Appeal was launched last year.
Angie, a mother and a Northumberland County Councillor for Prudhoe North, has been overwhelmed by public support.
"It is going to be a difficult Christmas for children, families and older people with soaring food and energy costs and reductions in benefit", she said.
"With the support of the people of Prudhoe, I am happy to say that lots of less fortunate will have some cheer this Christmas.
"I want to thank all who contributed, who, for a second-year running, have shown amazing generosity by providing new toys and gifts for the less unfortunate children, teenagers and senior citizens of Prudhoe.
"A special thank you to the Prudhoe Coop and those individuals who gave through our GoFundMe appeal. This has allowed us to provide a chocolate treat with the presents."
The gifts will be distributed by organisations who provide support across the town.
