TWO devoted grandparents hosted a fundraising day for the charity which supported their family after their grandson was born with a serious heart condition.
Bryan and Vera Colborn, who live at St Cuthbert's Close in Hexham, raised over £600 for CHUF (Children's Heart Unit Fund).
The charity supports children and families who receive treatment at the children's heart unit based at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle and other hospitals providing care for cardiac patients throughout the North of England.
The charity day, held in the lounge at St Cuthbert's Close on Friday (November 19), included a raffle, tombola, and tea and coffee.
"It was absolutely fantastic," said Vera, adding CHUF were "overjoyed" with the amount they raised.
Vera also wanted to thank her friend and neighbour Chris Phillips for her help in organising the day.
