A Northumberland based pub has had a triumphant week after featuring in a prestigious guide.

The Crown Inn in Humshaugh will feature in The Good Beer Guide 2022.

The Good Beer Guide, contains the UK's best pubs, bars and breweries, chosen by local CAMRA volunteers, who will inspect the pubs and taste their products.

In a post on social media The Crown Inn said: "We are absolutely delighted with our week’s achievements so far, we have been inspected for both cask marque and beer marque and have scored a maximum possible 405 points giving us five stars during an inspection which included both front of house and the cellar, to top it off we have once again been included in the latest Good Beer Guide for 2022."

Twice a year, pubs that apply for the cask and beer mark award are visited by inspectors o check the temperature, appearance, aroma and taste of the cask ales on sale. A minimum score has to be achieved to gain the award.

On their success this week. David Harding, owner of The Crown Inn said: "I was chuffed to bits, i think after everything that has gone on over recent months it is nice to know that we are doing something right."

David said that he doesn't get stressed during the inspections, he said: "To be honest we try do to everything right anyway, so i don't get stressed but i always try to keep on top of things, we always try and do it right."
