TODAY the UK fell silent to remember those who have lost their lives in war.
The Royal family and senior politicians lead the two minutes silence from the Cenotaph in London, with thousands of spectators.
One notable absence from today's events was the Queen. Buckingham Palace announced on Sunday morning that the Queen would be absent from the service at the Cenotaph in central London due to having sprained her back.
Towns and villages across the district turned out in their numbers for parades and wreath-laying.
Last year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, people decorated their homes, businesses and buildings with poppies, baked cakes and held private commemorations, while traditional church services were either stream-lined, and Covid compliant, or moved online.
Prudhoe held a march through the town and a service took place at St Mary Magdalene Church, where wreaths were laid and a two minutes silence was held.
Take a look at today's event.
