The Conservative Party has lost its majority control of Northumberland County Council.
The local authority’s ruling group’s previous slender majority of just one has now been wiped out with the resignation of Hexham East county councillor Cath Homer.
While the Conservatives have lost the majority they won at the latest round on local elections in May, the Tories remain the largest single political group.
