Hexham town council have announced a date for the Christmas lights to be switched on.
It is revealed that the Christmas lights will be switched on Friday 26 November at 5.00pm at the bandstand.
There will also be a second countdown at the tree outside the Hexham Abbey approximately 10 minutes later.
Hexham Mayor Derek Kennedy said: "Everybody is welcome to the switching on the Chirstmas lights. It will be a great event and I will be joined by a very special guest...Santa.
"As Spook Night was a success, we are confident that another big-scale outdoor event such as the Christmas lights been switched on wil be safe.
"Everybody is welcome to come."
