HERE at the Courant, we wanted to find out where the best live music venues in Northumberland are, here are your responses.

Where would you recommend?

The Vault, Hexham

This recommendation came from Ian Brown. Set in a former medieval malting cellar, The Vault is now a dedicated music performance venue which prides itself in showcasing grassroots artists as well as some famous faces.

The Vault also hosts a wide range of events, including comedy nights and fundraising nights.

The Fox, Hexham

The Fox, located West End Terrace, was recommended by Stephen Laverick. He said: "Sunday afternoons in The Fox, Hexham, great music, great atmosphere, great craic and, of course, great beer."

This view was backed by Amy Cousins, who said: "The Fox is always a great time! Brilliant Sunday afternoon sessions with a fab atmosphere."

The Jubilee, Haltwhistle

This lounge bar situated in West Road, just by the train station, has recommended its very own Jason Arnup, who is playing at the venue on November 6. It said: "Jason Arnup is fantastic playing at The Jubilee on Saturday, definitely worth a listen."

The Jubille bar regularly hosts live music events on a Saturday, along with a weekly pub quiz.

The Plough, Cramlington

This old farm turned pub, located in Middle Farm Square, hosts a lively atmosphere. You can choose to sit at the bar, the lounge area or outside in the large beer garden it has outside of the pub.

The pub, based in Cramlington, still comprises the original farmhouse and steading plus a circular building that was used to grind corn.

Comrades Club, Haltwhistle

This recommendation came from Ruth Bod, who said: "Comrades club is a fabulous venue, both in the concert room and the bar. Lots of local talent play here."

Located in Central Place, Haltwhistle, it is a firm favourite with locals.

The club recently won Northumberland Club of the Year in the Northumberland Club of the Year competition.
