THE Rotary Clubs of Hexham, Tynedale and Hadrian's Wall have joined forces to support Tools with a Mission (TWAM).
The charity collects usable donated tools across the UK, refurbishes them and sorts them into trade tool kits and sends them to the developing world for livelihood creation.
The Rotary Clubs have set up a collection point at the entrance of MKM Building Supplies in Hexham.
John Dumbrell, of Hexham Rotary Club, said: "Tools with a Mission take great care to collect donated useable tools and save thousands of tonnes of tools destined for landfill every year.
"More tools are needed and we hope the people of Hexham will sort through their garages to help people in Africa."
The collection point will be available for around six weeks.
