A POPULAR Halloween horror experience is to return this year.

Wayne Bond, who has a media background, has planned another of his infamous Halloween walk arounds and displays at his Castlefields home.

The event will raise money for Maggie's and Daft as a Brush Patient Care to support two local people suffering with the illness.

Brave visitors can expect a full projection show using special effects, a walk of terror and appearances from Geordie Bushman, Squid Games characters and, of course, Freddie Krueger.

Wayne started to run the event around ten years ago, each getting bigger. A minute of footage takes around two hours to prepare.

"Prudhoe is becoming famous for Halloween", he said. "You're always trying to make it a bit better.

"Halloween has become massive. It's important to do it because someone will have a smile on their face before they get terrified and those who don't like Halloween, they're not having anyone knock on their door because they're all at my house!"

The event is supported by local businesses McGees and Jewsons who provide resources free of charge. All of the materials are recycled or rehomed after use.

The free event, which was cancelled last year due to Covid, will be held on Sunday, October 31 at 27 Castlefields Drive from 5pm 9.30pm.
