A POPULAR tractor event which sees dozens of tractor enthusiast gather at The Crown Inn returned for the first time since the start of the pandemic.

The Crown Inn at Humshaugh which is famous for holding car events and car meet ups hosted its annual tractor day over the weekend.

Earlier this year The Crown Inn hosted a car event which saw McLarens descend on the Humshaugh village.

The idea for an annual tractor day came on the back of the success of the sports car meet ups and a request by residents for an event for them to be held.

Owner David Harding said: “It’s very much a day that attracts all the locals down and it has just taken off.”It’s turned into the biggest day of the year.

“Kids can come along sit in the tractors, get their pictures taken and we have live music and food too.”

On social media The Crown Inn said: “Thank you to every single person who was involved with Tractor Day 2021. First of all we had a great display of tractors.

“Huge thanks must go to all of the owners for making such an amazing effort to have them all looking so good and for being so welcoming to the dozens of families etc who came along to have a look and have photographs taken.

“The event started at noon, visitors were also treated to a BBQ in the beer garden and there was live music by Jason Arnup and Emily Sarah and the day finished off with a disco/karaoke night.”

The Crown Inn added: “Thank you to everyone who came along to support us, both locals and visitors, to see such huge numbers of people was fantastic after such a difficult couple of years, your support means the world to us so thank you.

“Last but certainly not least Thank You to all of our staff, this weekend they all stepped up a gear front of house, kitchen and on the BBQ, amazingly by the end of the day they were still smiling, Thank You.”
