Wylam Tennis Club has officially switched on its renovated floodlight system at its Autumn Tournament.
The renovated floodlight system was made possible through a major grant from Sport England.
The Tournament also saw two of the club's members given trophies for winning the tournament. The trophy was presented by Alan Dovaston, Sport England's investment manager.
Winners included Gill Drake who won the women's tournament and John Wiseman who won the men's tournament.
At the end of the competition, the floodlights were switched on in preparation for a busy winter tennis season.
Speaking about the Sport England investment, John Mackay, Chairman of Wylam Tennis Club said: "We are extremely grateful to Sport England for their award as the potential loss of our floodlighting system would have severely restricted our activities.
"The difference made by the new system was immediately noticeable and many players have said that on-court visibility is considerably improved and one or two are relieved to find that there is nothing wrong with their eyesight!"
